message

The Bible tells us of the existence of a good and gracious God who is the creator of the world as we know it, and who cares deeply about human beings as his most magnificent and prized creation. The Bible also tells us that this God designed us for Himself .  That is, He designed us for a purpose: to experience an authentic, give-and-take, reciprocal relationship of love and trust in a lifelong connection with Himself.

Tragically, all of humanity, at one time or another, has betrayed God’s trust and lost this inner connection with Him.  As a result, we don’t work right, our personal lives don’t work right, and our world doesn’t work right either.

However, the good news is that God refused to write us off.  He continued to love us and decided He would come after us and try to win us back.

God personally came to us in the person of Jesus Christ.  Jesus entered our world, on our turf and lived the most extraordinary life ever lived.  He cared for the poor, brought healing to broken bodies, minds, and spirits, taught spiritual truth without parallel, and offered a quality of life that outstrips all other forms of life imaginable.  And the primary truth He taught is that this kind of life was available and could be found in a living relationship with Him, if only people would embrace Him and reconnect themselves to Him again.

This is our message as a community of His followers here at Sun River Church.  Our purpose is to introduce as many people as possible to this Jesus we’ve come to know and love.  We do this by building loving, caring, bridges of irresistible influence and practical concern into our community, hoping that each bridge will communicate the love of Jesus Christ to the brokenness and loneliness of those still outside the circle of faith.

So if you’re looking for a personal faith with substance and reality, we invite you to consider Sun River Church as a place to explore and discover this relationship with Jesus, find answers to your questions, or work through personal sticking points in your spiritual journey.

And if you’re already a follower of Jesus and looking for a spiritual home, we hope you’ll consider linking arms with the rest of us as we build bridges of irresistible influence into our community.
